Flower food recipe
Your flowers do not come with flower food, Here is a homemade flower food mix recipe -
Ingredients:
-
1 teaspoon of sugar
-
2 teaspoons of lemon juice
-
1 teaspoon of bleach
Directions: Combine all ingredients to your vase before adding about a quart of water.
You've received a bouquet
-
Completely unwrap your bouquet from paper, tape, string
-
Cut about an inch off the bottom stems of the flowers using a sharp pair of scissors or sheers, this helps your flowers absorb more water/stay hydrated!
-
Fill a clean vase with room temperature water about 3/4 of the way and place flowers in vase. Flowers drink a lot of water (SoFlo heat is serious!) so make sure to check water levels and keep them high.
-
Very important* Make sure that there are no leaves or fallen petals in or under the water line. The stems should only be submerged in the water. Leaves in the water will cause bacteria to grow much faster. Flowers are very sensitive to any bacteria in the water.
-
Completely refresh your vase water every 2-3 days. (Pour out old water, refill with new water/flower food)
-
Keep flowers away from drafts, out of the sun/hot places or ripening fruit.
You've received an arrangement
-
Hydration is key! Flowers are thirsty little things (Soflo heat does not play!) Make sure to check water levels and keep them high by adding water as you see the flowers need.
-
Completely change the water in your arrangement every 2 - 3 days. As your arrangement is already assembled, the easiest way to change the water is to flush out the old water by placing the vase under a running faucet. Add flower food as you replenish.
